Teen Facing Burglary Charges

Deputies: Suspect severely injured while breaking into home.

A 15 year-old male is facing charges after deputies say he broke into a home on Mt. Olivet Road Tuesday night.

The teen, whose name is not being released due to his age, is charged with burglary, according to a Pickens County Sheriff's Office report.

In the initial 911 call, a male can be heard telling the victim that he was armed with an AK-47 and a shotgun, the report stated.

A deputy responded to the home on Mt. Olivet Road and heard windows being broken in the home upon arrival, the report stated.

The owner of the home then came outside. Officers asked the woman to sit in a patrol car to keep her out of harm's way.

Deputies then saw the suspect at the side of the house and ordered him to the ground at taser point, the report stated.

The teen had severe cuts to his fingers and wrists, allegedly from breaking out the windows, the report stated.

After discovering the teen's age, deputies called his mother, who came to the scene. She told police that she had been looking for her son, who had skipped school that day, according to the report.

She told deputies the teen had smoked synthetic marijuana and drank liquor, the report stated.

According to the report, the suspect told deputies he was carrying a knife, but deputies did not find it on him.

Blood from the suspects wounds was visible throughout the house. The victim found a knife inside her home.
