Bi-Lo Center to Be Renamed Bon Secours Wellness Arena

Greenville Arena District announces new naming rights partner.

The Greenville Arena District today announced that Bon Secours St. Francis Health System has acquired the naming rights to the BI-LO Center as a part of a  ten year $4.5 million partnership.  

“The marriage of these strong community partners gives us the opportunity to bring the unique vision of Bon Secours St. Francis to life and provide visitors with an exclusive experience that can only be found at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena,” said Camilla Hertwig, Chair of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System Board of Directors.

President and General Manager of The Greenville Arena District, Roger Newton added, “We have been fortunate to have a strong corporate partner for the past 15 years with BI-LO. As we start a new chapter in the history of this arena, we look forward to having another great community partner with Bon Secours.”

“Our agreement with Bon Secours St. Francis will expand the financial capacity of the arena and will improve our financial position. This arena already has a $60 million annual economic impact on the community and this partnership will help us to expand this impact even further,” said Greenville Arena District Board Chairman, Jeff Gilstrap.

While some changes will be made immediately, October 1 will be the official date of the name change to Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

The Bon Secours naming rights agreement was brokered by Denver-based Impression Sports & Entertainment.

 

The Greenville Arena District is a special purpose district created by the General Assembly of South Carolina in 1940.  The District is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of nine members who are appointed by the Governor upon recommendation by Greenville County Council.  The District’s function is to oversee the management of its facilities in providing an educational, cultural, athletic, and convention center to serve the citizens of the District.

Located in Greenville, SC, the Bon Secours Wellness Arena is a 15,000-seat sports and entertainment arena that hosts live events including family shows, sporting events, concerts, minor league hockey, seminars and conventions. Club seats, party suites and luxury suites with premium services concierge are available in the arena. The entertainment industry has consistently recognized the Arena as one of the top 50 venues in the world. The Bon Secours Wellness Arena is managed by the Greenville Arena District.

The Bon Secours Health System is a $3.3 billion not-for-profit Catholic health system sponsored by Bon Secours Ministries. Formed in 1983 and headquartered in Marriottsville, Maryland, the system owns, manages, or joint ventures 19 acute-care hospitals, one psychiatric hospital, five nursing care facilities, four assisted living facilities, and 14 home care and hospice services. More than 22,000 Bon Secours employees help people in six states, primarily on the East Coast.
