Burke's, Aldi Coming to Easley

Retailer Burke's Outlet is coming to Easley Town Center.

The shopping center will be one of only a few areas in the state to host a Burke's Outlet

Building Official Tommy Holcombe said the Easley Burke's Outlet will be a 20,200 square foot building.

“It'll be a big store,” he said.

Holcombe said estimated construction value of the Easley location is around $900,000.

Burke's offers brand name apparel and accessories at discount prices, as well as shoes, home furnishings, gifts, and toys.

Holcombe said Burke's was a cross between Kohl's and Marshalls.

Burke's Outlet has 160 stores in 11 states. In addition to South Carolina, the company has locations in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

“From my understanding, there's not but about three or four in South Carolina right now,” Holcombe said. “We're proud to get them. I think it's going to be a good addition to that family of stores out there.”

The store will be located to the left of Sam's Club.

“They will be the center store in a line of them,” Holcombe said. “They'll come back later on and have two or three, four or five smaller stores on either side of them. They're getting tenants lined up as we speak.”

Holcombe said there's still ample room for growth at Easley Town Center.

“We probably don't have but about 35 percent of it full right now,” Holcombe said. “We've still got four or five outparcels. We've got a great big parcel behind Walmart that we're looking at maybe developing a residential project there.”

There's also space for more businesses on the Tractor Supply side of the shopping center, he said.

Developers are waiting to see what's decided regarding the proposed extension of Highway 153, Holcombe said.

“We're tickled with where we're at right now,” he said.

Sam's Club, along with Sam's Gas, is scheduled to open the last week in June.

A new Aldi Grocery Store will be built across the street. Holcombe said site plans have been approved for that project.

“It's kind of a unique company,” he said. “They've got a bunch of stores over in Europe and they've migrated over here. They've been a real pleasure to work with. I look forward to them being a part of Easley.”

Construction on Aldi should start before July 1, Holcombe said.
