SC No. 5 Among Most Prepared Coastal States
The state beats out neighbors for hurricane preparedness in building codes.
The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety released Monday a new report which provides an analysis of residential building codes in the 18 hurricane-prone coastal states along the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Coast. The report gives South Carolina a rating of 84, placing it at No. 5 for meeting goals among coastal states.
