Blood Drive in Honor of Police Week
Blood Connection holding National Law Enforcement Memorial Week Blood Drive at locations throughout the area this week.
This week is National Police Week. Wednesday is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. During police week each year, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers will gather in Washington, DC to take part in a number of events designed to pay honor to those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Here in the Upstate, The Blood Connection is holding a blood drive in connection with the special week.
