Stephen Davis has been charged with operating a Columbia nightclub without a license.

ORIGINAL REPORT Former Spartanburg High standout and Carolina Panther player has been charged with operating a Columbia nightclub without a license. Stephen Davis, 38, who retired from the NFL in 2008, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with avoiding tax by operating a retail business without a license and with three fraudulent check charges. According to WBTV, Davis owns a club called PURE Lounge  located on Berryhill Road in Columbia. Former Clemson Star, Spartanburg Parks Leader Dies After Motorcycle Crash

Brian Wofford, a former standout wide receiver at Spartanburg High and Clemson University, died Friday morning while riding his motorcycle in Moore.

A former Clemson standout and leader of Spartanburg City's parks system dies after a crash in Moore Friday morning. Wofford, a former standout wide receiver at Spartanburg High and Clemson University, died Friday morning while riding his motorcycle in Moore. The crash occurred at about 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Reidville Road and Plateau Street, near Highway 417. According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, Wofford, 34, was riding his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle west on Reidville Road when a vehicle turned into his path. Wofford, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center 20 minutes after the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
