Sen. Graham: I Support Drone Strikes

Senator Lindsey Graham on judicial approval of drone use: “We're not fighting a crime, we're fighting a war.”

Senator Lindsey Graham said he supports the president's use of drone strikes in the Middle East. Graham spoke to Easley Rotary Club members Tuesday afternoon, and was asked by Mayor Larry Bagwell to give his opinion on the use of drones during a Q and A session afterwards. “It's a weapon that needs to be used,” Graham said. “It's a tactical weapon. A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle that is now armed.” The Pakistan/Afghanistan border is “very hard to get to,” he said. “We don't have any troops in that area,” he said. “So that's where Al-Qaeda and terrorists groups like the Akani Network and Al-Shabaab are residing, very remote regions. If the US sanator and others want to be truly democratic, they must respect the opinion of the people where drone attacks are carried out, like they will not allow the use of drone on US soil against any person. Sen. Graham to Speak at Easley Rotary

Senator Lindsey Graham will speak at Easley Rotary Club meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Senator Lindsey Graham is slated to be the guest speaker at Tuesday's Easley Rotary Club meeting. Graham is slated to speak at 12:30pm at the meeting, which will be held in the Carr Conference Center at West End Hall. On Wednesday, Graham held a press conference in response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address. Refuting the president's call for a vote on gun control, Graham said the government should do a better job enforcing existing laws concerning background checks.

Sen. Lindsey Graham Honored For Conservation Efforts

Conservationists and sportsmen groups recognize Graham for his dedication to preserving state's beauty.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham helped unveil planned improvements to Sassafras Mountain last week, and during the ceremony received a surprise himself. The Department of Natural Resources and a number of conservation and sportsmen's groups honored Graham for his dedication to conservation by presenting Graham with the 2012 Conservation Excellence Award. The award praises Graham for his strong support of hunting and fishing, for his habitat protection efforts statewide and for his bi-partisan support of key programs such as the North American Wetlands Conservation Act.
