2,800 children walk through trail in Pickens Saturday.
Dear Editor, We had a very successful Trick or Treat on Main this past weekend. There were 2800 children who came through the trail. We did not count parents, but each child had at least one if not two parents with them at the event. 24 businesses, churches and organizations participated in the trail and decorated a booth to hand out candy. It was truly a community event for the kids. Cannon Hospital started this tradition over 15 years ago here at the hospital’s fitness trail to provide a safe, family friendly trick or treating event. Palmetto Martial Arts School is a sport Tae Kwon Do school located at 1962 E. Main Street, Easley. They were selected as the March business of the month by the board of directors of the Easley Chamber of Commerce. Palmetto Martial Arts School currently has 135 students from ages 6 to adult. Emphasis is placed on self defense and character development at this school. Owner and head instructor, John Roberson, is the only Level 2 Certified TKD coach in South Carolina. He will be adding 1,500 square feet to their floor space in the next six weeks to be more efficient in their instruction and allow for additional students.
