Woman Charged In Fatal Wreck Captured In Ohio

Julie Mason charged after 2011 crash that left a DSS worker and a child dead.

A Marietta woman charged in connection with a crash that killed a DSS worker and a 10-year old girl has been arrested in Ohio.  Fox Carolina is reporting that Julie Mason, of Marietta, was arrested in Ohio yesterday after failing to make a court appearance in April.  The March 4, 2011, crash killed 36 year-old social worker Chrystal Harrison, of Seneca, and 10-year old Raven Stancell, of Pickens.  Mason was charged with two counts of felony DUI resulting in death and two counts of felony DUI resulting in injury after investigators said her car crossed the center line and struck another car head-on.  For more on this story, see the Fox Carolina report.

Woman Charged in Deadly Crash Misses Court

A warrant has been issued for her arrest

A woman charged in a fatal wreck last year in Pickens County was expected in court on Thursday afternoon. Several media outlets have reported that Julie Mason, 46, did not show up for her scheduled 2 p.m. hearing. A warrant has been issued for her arrest, according to WSPA. Mason was charged last year with two counts of felony driving under the influence resulting in death and two counts of driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury. According to an article by WSPA, Mason was charged after crossing a center line on Highway 8 and striking a state-issued vehicle. Chrystal Nicole Harrrison, 36, of Seneca, and Raven Alania Stancell, 9, of Pickens, died at the scene. Read more on this story.
