Easley students on Bob Jones Academy Forensic Team, which is advancing to national tournament.
Seven members of the Bob Jones Academy Forensic Team advanced from the recent National Forensic League’s (NFL) District Qualifier Tournament and will represent South Carolina at the NFL National Tournament on June 16-21 in Birmingham, Ala. The following students will represent South Carolina at the NFL National Tournament: Policy Debate – Micah Samuels (Piedmont) and Elliott Kelley (Easley) Policy Debate – Nichole Martinson (Greenville) and Will Christmas (Easley) Lincoln Douglas Debate – Marina Shew (Greenville) Dramatic Interpretation – Helena Sullivan (Easley) and Margaret Stegall (Greenville) Additionally, BJA students received bids, based on high placements at local tournaments, to attend the National Individual Events Tournament of …

Helena Sullivan of Easley qualifies for the National Tournament of Champions Tournament to be held in May in San Antonio.
The Bob Jones Academy Forensic Team was named State 1-A Champions in Speech and Debate for the seventh consecutive year at the recent South Carolina Forensic Coaches Association’s Speech and Debate Championship held in North Charleston. The team finished third overall. After five rounds of competition against top competitors in the state, the following students advanced to elimination rounds and then on to placing the top in the state: Quarterfinalists: Semi Finalists: Finalists: Helena Sullivan of Easley and Margaret Stegall of Greenville qualified for the National Tournament of Champions Tournament to be held in May in San Antonio, Texas.

Bob Jones Academy (BJA) will hold its 85th graduation ceremony for 88 graduates this Thursday, May 10, at 2 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium at Bob Jones University (BJU). This is the first graduating class under the consolidated BJA. During the graduation exercises, several students will give brief testimonials about their learning experiences while attending BJA. Bob Jones III, chancellor of BJU, will speak during the ceremony. The 2012 valedictorian is James Harold Noel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Noel of Greer, S.C.
