Pair of bandits hit two restaurants over the course of three nights, report says.
Two men who robbed a pair of Clemson restaurants at gunpoint are being sought by authorities, Fox Carolina reported. Clemson police said the first robbery occurred May 14 at the Wendy's on Highway 123, when the suspects entered the restaurant around 10 p.m. and ordered employees on to the floor, stealing cash and the employees' cell phones, the report said. Clemson police believed the same two are responsible for another armed robbery at the Little Caesar's in downtown Clemson around 3 a.m. on May 17, Chief Jimmy Dixon told the station. A 76-year-old Easley man reported missing from North Carolina was found Tuesday in northern Greenville County. Greenville County Sheriff's deputies received a call around 5:30 p.m. from the security gatehouse at the Cliffs Valley Community located at 2 Knightsridge Road. Deputies said the security guard told dispatchers that a man came to the gatehouse after finding a car with an unresponsive man on the side of Highway 25 near Gap Creek Road. The man, identified as Albert Francis Parson, had been the subject of a Silver Alert issued May 17 by the Asheville Police Department, after Parsons left an Asheville-based assisted-living center. The woman suspected in the killings of her son and daughter and the attempted murder of her husband was due in court today, but the arraignment was canceled shortly before it was to start. Suzanna Brown Simpson is charged with murdering her daughter Carly, 7, her son Sawyer, 5, and attempting to kill her husband Michael Simpson. The bodies of the children were discovered in the Simpson home on Cherokee Trail in Dacusville last Tuesday. Pickens County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Creed Hashe said that Magistrate Ben Dow received a formal request from the Public Defenders Office asking that the arraignment hearing be waived. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office said a body found hanging near Alice Manufacturing Tuesday morning appears to be a suicide. A passing motorist called deputies to 212 Rice Road just after 7:15 a.m., after seeing what appeared to be a body hanging from a rope. Deputies said there does not appear to be any indicators of foul play and preliminary reports are that the incident is self-inflicted. The victim is an adult. No further information is being released at this time.

Warning: Beginning today, SC state troopers and local police and sheriff's deputies will be on the lookout for drivers, specially nighttime drivers, who fail to wear safety belts as part of a coordinated crackdown statewide. From May 20 to June 2, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement agencies will increase enforcement of South Carolina’s primary seat belt law as part of the Buckle Up South Carolina (BUSC) safety belt enforcement mobilization. Community turns out to lift up the families of the victims of Tuesday's shootings.
The Dacusville community turned out in force Thursday afternoon “to express our heartfelt sympathy for the death of two beloved children, our concerns for a critically-wounded and for the soul of a broken mother,” said the Rev. Ashley McCoy-Bruce. The crowd gathered in front of Dacusville Elementary School to lift up in prayer and remember Carly and Sawyer Simpson, who were murdered on Tuesday, and their father Michael Simpson, who is hospitalized with critical injuries. The calls led to discovery of children's bodies
The Pickens County Sheriff's Office has released the 911 calls that led to the discovery of the murders of two Dacusville children. The first 911 call concerns an accident that happened around 6 a.m. near 312 Cherokee Trail. The caller tells the dispatcher the vehicle has slammed into a tree, hard enough to uproot the tree. “They are hurt, if they are not dead,” the caller tells the dispatcher. The second caller tells dispatch that a woman has been injured in the accident.
