RedRover Caring for 150 Dogs Taken From Anderson County Puppy Mill

Officials recently found large numbers of dogs living in filthy conditions on area property.

RedRover, a California-based nonprofit organization, has deployed volunteers to care for approximately 150 dogs and puppies living in deplorable conditions on a property in Anderson County, South Carolina.

When Anderson County officials arrived on the property, they found a variety of small-breed dogs suffering from untreated medical conditions and living in filthy cages. Authorities received word about the conditions when a resident contacted law enforcement after purchasing a puppy who was later diagnosed with parvovirus.

Fourteen RedRover Responders volunteers from six states are traveling to South Carolina to care for the rescued animals at the request of the Anderson County Sherriff’s Office. The rescue was a joint effort by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson County P.A.W.S., RedRover, the South Carolina National Guard, and the Humane Society of the United States. PetSmart Charities is donating supplies to help care for the rescued dogs.
