Luke Hall and other Bob Jones University students recently traveled to Brazil to spread the Gospel

Luke Hall, a resident of Easley, SC, participated with eleven other Bob Jones University students in a missions trip to Brazil May 9-24. The team was led by Bob Jones Academy faculty member Gil Fremont.

Hall is a freshman majoring in Premed/Predent.

Through the medium of soccer, team members shared their testimonies of faith in Christ and preached in several venues across Brazil.

John Wiser, a senior engineering major, who previously traveled with the Brazil team said, "God did some amazing things while we were in Brazil. It was incredible to see people respond to the Gospel as the team gave testimonies, preached and passed out tracts during our soccer matches and while we traveled across the area."

In addition to competing against other soccer teams, the students passed out Gospel tracts, played soccer with children on the streets, spoke in several schools and witnessed in a youth prison where 18 violent youth offenders accepted Christ. They also met a prison guard who had heard the Gospel during a previous BJU team's visit and accepted Christ.

"We were able to minister effectively as people were willing to listen because of the respect our players earned on the field of play," team leader Gil Fremont said. "God can use soccer - or any of the talents He gives us - to impact others across the world for Christ."
