Tour's goal is "teaching lifelong skills such as programming, soldering, and building circuits along the way."

On October 15, 2013, Hunt Meadows Elementary School in Easley, SC will be one of 50 stops for the SparkFun National Education Tour.

SparkFun, an online electronic components retailer based in Boulder, CO, has launched their 2013 Education Tour traveling by bus to select events around country with the goal of "teaching lifelong skills such as programming, soldering, and building circuits along the way".

As the only scheduled tour stop in the Carolinas, Hunt Meadows Elementary School's CoderDojo students will be spending a full day in October with the SparkFun bus on-site.

Fourth and Fifth grade students participating in the CoderDojo program will be learning the fundamentals of physical computing. SparkFun will present a day-long student workshop using Arduino microcontrollers and various other electronic components.
