Though it seems hard to believe, the start of football season is just over a month away and some are already expecting big things from Pickens County schools.
Easley High School is in the Top 20 of a recent SCVarsity.Com 4A Football Poll.
Stalwart powerhouse Byrnes is at the top of the preseason 4A Poll, with Goose Creek, Gaffney, South Pointe and Greenwood rounding out the top 5.
Easley is ranked #17 in the poll.
In the 2A Division Poll, Daniel is ranked #4. Belton Honea Path is predicted to be #1, with Hartsville, Myrtle Beach and Strom Thurmond rounding out the Top 5. Nearby Wren High School is ranked #6.
Liberty High School is listed at #20 in the 2A Division Poll.
The Easley Green Wave will face longtime rival Pickens in the first game of the season on August 17 at Pickens.
This game is the Sam Wyche Food Fight Bowl fundraiser for Pickens County Meals on Wheels.
