Mayor Declares Oct. 22-26 National Business Women's Week

The BPW Celebration of Pickens County Women will be Tuesday, October 23, 6:30 pm at DunBurks in Easley. Deadline for awards nominations and reservations is Friday.

Mayor Larry Bagwell signs Proclamation proclaiming National Business Women's Week Oct. 22-26 for the City of Easley and encourages all Pickens County residents to recognize the many contributions made by business and professional women to our continued ecomomic prosperity.  The Proclamation states

WHEREAS, working women constitute over 69 million of the nation’s work force, serving their communities, their states and their nation in professional, civic and cultural capacities; and

WHEREAS, women-owned businesses account for approximately 30 percent of all businesses in the United States, generating over 1.2 trillion dollars in sales each year and employing more than 9 million workers; and

WHEREAS, business and professional women throughout South Carolina and the country are dedicated to promoting equality for all women and  helping create better conditions for business women through the study of social, educational, economic and political problems; and

WHEREAS, since 1928, Business and Professional Women have been spotlighting the achievements and contributions made by working women across our state and nation during National Business Women's Week.

The BPW Celebration of Pickens County Women will be Tuesday, October 23, 6:30 pm at DunBurks in Easley. 

This is one of the County's Signature Events honoring outstanding working women in the community.  To nominate someone for this award or to make reservations, contact Mary Lou Barnhardt, mbarnh@gmail.com, phone 864-293-4814. Deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 12. 

Reservations are required to attend the event and must be made by Oct. 19.  Application forms are also available at the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce office.
