Seneca Woman Charged with Additional Bomb Threats

Melissa Ann Griggs charged with making threats on Clemson campus.

A Seneca woman who has been charged with a string of bomb threats in Oconee County faces additional charges after authorities alleged she is responsible for bomb threats made on the Clemson University campus, WYFF reported.

On Tuesday, university police charged Melissa Ann Griggs, 38, with two felony counts of making a bomb threat stemming from two incidents that led to the evacuation of the Hendrix Student Center.

"It's not something that you need to play around with over the telephone or any other way, because we take it serious," Oconee County Chief Deputy Kevin Davis told the station.

This month at least 15 calls were made reporting bombs in Oconee County, the city of Seneca and Clemson.
