Easley

Chandler Bruce Black, Sr., 80, of Easley, widower of Janet Evelyn Smith Black, died Sunday, September 15, 2013.

Born in Lowell, NC, he was a son of the late Bruce and Ruby Black.

Chandler retired from the US Air Force and later from the Cryovac Division of WR Grace Company. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon.

He is survived by his children, Moleta Mauldin (Barry) and Chandler B. Black, Jr. (Tracy); grandchildren, Timothy R. Mauldin (Kristin), Jeremy C. Black, and Matthew C. Black (Kim); great grandson, Aaden Mauldin; sister, Bobbie Ann Roberts; and brothers, James Black (Carole), Tom Black, Mitchell Gillis (Carole), and Richard Black (Dana).

In addition to his parents and loving wife of 60 years, he was preceded in death by grandson, Benjamin Mauldin.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolias of Easley and Gentiva (Vista Care) Hospice for their loving care.
