The Hustle, the annual fundraiser fitness walk, hosted by the Hunt Meadows Elementary PTO, was a huge success. The goal to raise $15,000 for the I-pad lab was met and exceeded. The parents, students, and staff worked hard to achieve this goal. It's the highest amount raised so far. After collecting their donations, the students participated in a 20 minute walk with their class. Parents and students walked and "hustled" to the music played by 3rd grade teacher and school DJ, Colin Rork. After their fun walk, the students were rewarded with a special recess donated by the Good News Club. The students enjoyed bouncing time on inflatables and slides and enjoyed snow cones and popcorn. It was a fun and exciting day. All students that participated in the donation process were entered into a drawing for wonderful incentive prizes. A special awards assembly completed the fun day. With donations from The Greenville Zoo, The Greenville Road Warriors, and by using points from the PTO's Coke Rewards program and Labels for Education collections, many prizes were awarded to students. There were three top donor winners. The Top donor received a Kindle Fire with case, the second place donor received a Basketball Goal with ball, and the third place donor received a camping gift set. The top ten donors received a pizza party with the school Principal as a reward for their hard work. The final tally came in at $15,148. As a special reward for meeting the goal, the students have earned a fun "water day" hosted by the school principal and the PTO. The school has now ordered their I-pad lab which will consist of 30 I-pads on a mobile cart which will be used by the students for various educational activities. The PTO is excited that the entire Hunt Meadows family and the community came together to make this dream a reality. Without the help of the parents, friends and families, this goal would have never been reached. It's a wonderful example of how a community can come together to achieve a common goal.
