5 things you need to know about Easley on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011

Good morning Easley, today is Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 and there are 114 days left in the year. 

Look for today to be full of sunshine and a high of 79, however some clouds will linger, according to the National Weather Service.

If you enjoy the arts then you should plan on checking out Easley's new Fine Arts Center at the West End Hall. The center is having a grand opening event today. Mayor Larry Bagwell will be in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m.

Easley High School Student Council is sponsoring a free concert to benefit Pickens County Meals on Wheels. Come out for an evening of entertainment, raffles, famous faces, and a great cause! The concert will feature local artists Allison Hale, The Rising Sons, Russ & Russ, and Gold Shot. The concert is free, but donations are appreciated. All proceeds will go to Pickens County Meals on Wheels. The concert will be held in the new Old Market Square Amphitheater.
