Big League World Series, Story Time, and Easley Rotary

5 things you need to know about Easley on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011.

Good morning Easley, today is Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011 and there are 151 days left in the year.

Things are going to heat up again today according to the National Weather Service. Expect sunny skies and the temperature to reach a high of 98 degrees.

Plan to keep outdoor activity to a minimum and be sure to stay hydrated. The heat will continue for most of the week with the temperature hovering in the upper 90's into the weekend.

If you're looking for a great way to keep the kids and yourself cool this morning head over to the Hampton Memorial Library for Preschool Storytime. Join other parents and children for stories, songs, and flannel board stories every Tuesday at the library. This is a free event and it is open to the public, courtesy of your public library. Story time starts at 10:30 a.m.

Attention Easley Rotary Club members- the weekly meeting for the Rotary Club is held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. You must be a Rotary Club member to attend meetings, but don't let that stop you from learning more about your local rotary. The 2011 Big League World Series is nearing an end. Today four teams will face off in two semi-final games at the J.B. 'Red' Owens Recreational Complex here in Easley. At 4 p.m. Puerto Rico will play against the Netherlands team to battle for the international spot in the final game on Wednesday. At 7:30 p.m. South Carolina District 1 will face the U.S. Southeast team from Greenville for the American spot on Wednesday. The final game is at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
