Event:  Easley Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon

Place:  DunBurks Premier Events     Good Life Catering providing the meal.

Date/Time: Thursday 4/19 11:45 - 1:00 PM

Cost:  $15 members/ $18 visitors

Program:  Jennifer Willis - Chairperson of the Pickens County Council will give the state of the county address to our chamber members

We love to go to the Highway 25 Drive-In in Greenwood. They have two screens showing 2 - 3 movies…Read More per night each and you can get a great burger or sandwich from their concession stand, too. It's a very family-oriented venue with a playground in front of the screen to keep the kids entertained before the movie starts.

Saw many movies at drive ins over the years. Cannot remember the first one or the last one, but, it…Read More was always fun. One thing I loved about them was the fact you could bring your own concessions and save a lot of money. I also remember the playgrounds just about all of them had to keep the children entertained before the show started, during intermission and while waiting for the cars to get out. Only thing I did not enjoy going with my family, our dad always left before the end of the second feature, to beat the crowd. One movie I waited more than 30 years to see the end of it and had to stay up until 2 AM and be at work at 6 the next morning, lol. I miss those days. Thanks for letting me know the one on Highway 25 in Greenwood is open.

Too much of the food is actually in the holder and there is seemingly no way to get past the little prongs on the sides to get you mouth in there. Remember, it takes two hands to handle a Whopper!

The mom says the child pushed her to work harder at her studies. Doesn't that count for something?…Read More We had students who used them in their senior "memory" pages, but not in their school photo. But regardless of her choices as a teen, being a mom is a huge representation of the person you become and that she became as a result of having the child. How is that less significant than a football?

I was the youngest sister of 3 girls and my sister took me as her "prop" she was never ask who I was or anything the pic was used in the yearbook. Its is not shameful to show others that one bad decision doesn't have to lead to more! To me this could have been used to help encouraged other teen mom's, cause lets face it teen motherhood. Is an issue these days.

One of the spots on her face got infected and a couple of weeks later meningitis put her into the hospital on her second birthday. Was there a conecction? We do not know, but if there had been a vaccine for CP then, it might have saved us that horrible experience.

I'm with you JackDaniel - this sounds like something designed to pad someone's pocket. If someone…Read More wants to learn CPR, they can find ways to do it. I took a CPR class many years ago where I worked, and I can guarantee you that if I had to do it now, whomever I was doing it on would be in trouble. The fact of the matter is that if you don't have a deep interest in retaining the skill, you're going to forget whatever it is you learned within a year or two, and unless you happen to beat the odds and find yourself in the whatever-hundred thousand to one situation where you would actually need to remember, it is going to be a complete waste of time. Bottom line - while it sounds like a noble goal, it's a big waste of time and a complete misuse of school time that should be spent on the three R's.

I just checked Sen Malloy's record and it appears that he is zero for 18 on getting bills passed…Read More this session. He did get three resolutions passed so he is 3 for 22 overall. Maybe he needs to change his line of work. I am still looking for any connection to a company that sells medical/rescue equipment.

Most people in an emergency situation, panic and do not do what they are supposed to do. Cool heads rarely prevail.

My 19 year old daughter was provided alcohol by her grandmother, my mother-in-law. I had her arrested and she inturned contacted my daughter and made her feel sorry for her and convinced my daughter to go to the judge and tell them she did not want to pursue it anymore. Tampering with states witness is what it sounds like to me, but they dropped the warrant.

New evacuation plans, new courses of action, new points of contact have been established, tested and constantly updated. Being prepared, but hoping you never have to use any of those plans does help to ease the mind.

Dangerous weather conditions can be very local without getting national attention. The question is about whether we are overdue for a natural disaster. My opinion is that we are not overdue. Our natural disasters are just smaller scale in Pickens County.
