Easley Masons Support Meals on Wheels

Lodge donates proceeds from hamburger sales at Wings and Wheels for Meals

On Tuesday May 14, 2013, members of the Bates Masonic Lodge of Easley presented Pickens County Meals on Wheels with a check in the amount of $1,228.

This donation represents proceeds from the Lodge’s hamburger sales at the 4th Annual Wings & Wheels event held Saturday April 6, 2013.

Grand Master Chad Schook presented the donation to Meta Bowers, Executive Director and Sam Wyche, board member. “Members of Bates Masonic Lodge have participated in the Wings and Wheels Event from the beginning,” says Bowers, “Their volunteerism and financial support provides meals and companionship for one client each year.”

Pickens County Meals on Wheels, is a 501 (c)(3), a non-profit, charitable organization funded completely through grants and donations from individuals, churches, church organizations, businesses, civic groups, and the United Way. The organization does not seek or receive any state or federal funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the community it serves.
