DESCRIPTION:Appalachian Stories and Songs will be held at 2:30 p.m. March
  11 at Hampton Memorial Library in Easley with John Fowler.\nFowler\, of
 fspring of North Carolina mountain people who came down into Piedmont to
  work in the textile mills\, became a storyteller\, banjo strummer\, and
  washboard player by default. He currently hosts the long-running old ti
 me music radio program\, &ldquo\;This Old Porch&rdquo\; and travels the 
 countryside recording stories to turn into documentaries.&nbsp\; You are
  sure to have a good time listening to him talk old times and play a tun
 e or two.&nbsp\;\nThis program is free\, open to all and sponsored by th
 e SC Humanities Council as part of the Smithsonian Institution&rsquo\;s 
 &ldquo\;New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music&rdquo\; travelin
