DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to the third 100 Year Reunion of the Ol
 d Pendleton District\, scheduled for Friday\, June 22 and Saturday\, Jun
 e 23 on the Southern Wesleyan University campus in Central. The event wi
 ll include display tables for local families\, special presentations\, g
 uest speakers\, work sessions and more.\nPrograms will include &ldquo\;F
 amily Migration Routes Into and Out of the Upcountry&rdquo\; by Charles 
 Andrews and &ldquo\;Burial Customs of the 18th and 19th centuries&rdquo\
 ; by Tim Drake &ndash\; both at Folger Fine Arts Auditorium.\nThe &ldquo
 \;gathering of Upcountry families&rdquo\; will take place Saturday\, Jun
 e 23 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the university&rsquo\;s Dining Commons
 . Featured during the day will be &ldquo\;Genealogical Research 201 and 
 the 1940 Census&rdquo\; and quilt identification with quilt researcher L
 aurel Horton. Food from Yoder&rsquo\;s at Meece Mill will be available.\
 nCurrently\, these three counties make up what was once the Pendleton Di
 strict\, an area now rich in family history that event sponsors hope to 
 capture and preserve for future generations.\nIf your family traces its 
 roots back more than 100 years in Anderson\, Oconee or Pickens county\, 
 you may reserve a table to display family Bibles\, pictures\, old docume
 nts\, genealogical research or other memorabilia. Copiers\, printers and
  scanners will be available to help share family information.\nThe reuni
 on is being sponsored by the Birchwood Center for Arts and Folklife\, al
 ong with Southern Wesleyan University\, the Old Pendleton District Genea
 logical Society\, the Pickens County Historical Society\, the Pickens Co
 unty Museum of Art and History\, the Central Heritage Society and the Pe
