Green Wave Marching Band Ready for another successful season.

At 8:00AM this morning (July 30, 2012) the Easley Green Wave Marching Band began preparing for another stellar season! The previous school year was a banner year for Easley Bands. Last year the Marching Band placed 13th in the State among 4A bands. The winter program was in rare form as well. The Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion teams place second and third in the State in their respective divisions.

Band Camp kicked off this morning with a large number of new faces joining a crowd of returning verteran band members. All band staff members from last season are returning this season. During the opening workout morale was already high, with the percussion section parading around like a platoon of Marines! (The pecussion instructions is an actual United States Marine, Mr. Brad Kelly!)

Brass instructor (and part-time ninja), Nate Roper lead in the opening workout and drills. Mr. Roper is already "strongly" urging the band to better their 13th place finish from last year! Student leadership is already rising to occasion by stepping up and encouraging members that might be struggling with the heat!

The Color Guard has many experienced members returning as well a nice crop of new faces. The Color Guard always turned in very strong performance last year and it looks as if this year they will be even stronger!

Band and Color Guard, keep working hard! Mrs. Glenda and I will warm up the buses! Let's go kick hiney!!!

Our love will ever be, Easley, for thee!
