Dan Scott, the voice of the Furman Paladins' athletic teams and whose show used to be heard on 104.9 WCCP FM and later on The Score Sports Radio, announced Friday that he'd been given a weekly television program through Charter Cable.

Beginning at the end of August, Scott will host a two-hour television show from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday nights. Scott made the announcement via social media Friday morning.

Scott described the show as being sports-related, but with a distinct focus on faith and how the two relate.

"The show will air throughout the Upstate and Western NC, basically from Abbeville to Asheville. Nearly 400,000 subscribers. Plus world wide on the Internet," Scott wrote on his Facebook.

Scott, a widely recognized voice across the Upstate, has experienced a whirlwind year. Soon after Scott admitted on his WCCP radio show in November that he had been the victim of childhood sexual abuse, he was let go by the station. Scott landed on his feet at another job in the Upstate, but a change in ownership there left him again looking for another job.

Prior to his time with Furman, he spent seven years as the play-by-play voice of Clemson baseball and women's basketball. He is also actively raising awareness of his Every Day Foundation, which Scott formed to help children who have been physically, sexually or mentally abused.
