Two Easley Men Face Federal Child Pornography Charges

Daniel Micah Ellenburg and David Michael Ellenburg have both been indicted on charges involving child pornography, authorities said.

Two Easley men have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges involving child pornography according to United States Attorney Bill Nettles.

Daniel Micah Ellenburg, 20, of Easley was charged in a two-count indictment with possessing, receiving, and distributing child pornography, authorities said.

David Michael Ellenburg II, 24, of Easley was charged in a one-count Indictment with possessing child pornography, authorities said.

Both Daniel Ellenburg and David Ellenburg were indicted as a result of an investigation by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The minimum penalty Daniel Micah Ellenburg could receive is no less than five years imprisonment with the maximum being not more than 20 years imprisonment.

The maximum penalty David Michael Ellenburg, II, could receive is 10 years imprisonment.

Both Easley men were investigated as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.

Led by the United States Attorneys Offices, Project Safe Childhood, federal marshals, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.

The case has now been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney William J. Watkins, Jr., of the Greenville office for prosecution.
