Easley Green Wave senior Spencer Collins isn't afraid of working hard, and it shows as he continues to shine in a standout career.
On Jan. 3 the 18-year-old shooting guard topped 1,500 career points and he hasn't stopped since. On Tuesday night he elevated it to 1,700 after scoring 33 points against Greenwood.
"He's having a great year," coach Grant Stallard said. "He's just a great kid. He's the first one here and the last one to leave."
Easley High School Athletic Director Chris Carter said he's seen Collins in the gym working on his game before anyone else had arrived at school.
"For most basketball players when you reach 1,000 it's a benchmark," Carter said. "It just shows you how hard he has worked."
The season isn't over yet and Collins has shown no signs of slowing down.
"It'll be a long time before we have another kid like Spencer come through here," Carter said.
