Mother Of Baby Abandoned In Toilet Scheduled In Court
Jessica Blackham will be in Judge Ned Miller's courtroom Wednesday morning.
A 25-year-old woman who was indicted in August for allegedly leaving her newborn baby in a Bi-Lo Center toilet last year is scheduled to be in court Wednesday morning, the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office confirmed Tuesday.
Jessica Blackham will be in Judge Ned Miller's courtroom sometime midmorning.
On Feb. 4, 2011, a newborn baby was found in a toilet in the women's restroom at the Bi-Lo Center, where a circus was being held. Blackham eventually turned herself in to the Greenville Police and admitted she had abandoned the child.
Blackham faces two counts of felony child abuse and one count of unlawful neglect for the incident.
Blackham attributed the incident to amnesia, claiming she had little memory of the incident, but in August a grand jury still handed down a true bill of indictment against her.
