Liberty woman killed in weekend motorcycle accident

A Liberty woman was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Saturday evening.

 

A Liberty woman died of injuries sustained after she was involved in a motorcycle accident.

Christina Diane Lackey Davis, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident occured at 7:15 p.m. Saturday night at Slabb Bridge Road in Liberty, Rhyne said.

Davis was a passenger on a 2010 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Zachary Tyler Craft, 21, of Easley Rhyne said.

The motorcycle was traveling north on Ross Road. As it crossed Slabb Bridge Road, the motorcycle lost control, striking a pasture, Rhyne said.

Craft was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, Rhyne said.

Craft was wearing a helmet.

Davis was not wearing a helmet, Rhyne said. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.

Funeral services for Davis are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Liberty.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
