Liberty High School Presents "The Beating Heart"

Spine-chilling play will be performed Nov. 15-17.

The curtain rises on the 2012-2013 Liberty High School theatre season this month, with the presentation of a spine-chilling ghost story.

LHS Theatre will present “The Beating Heart” by Craig Sodaro, under the direction of Mrs. Jean Toole on November 15, 16, and 17.

“The Beating Heart” is the story of Ivy McEwin, a college history major, so intrigued by a photograph of a young woman who lived during the Civil War that she travels to the woman's home, Ravensgate, an old Southern plantation. But instead of finding the woman’s life story, Ivy is greeted by the sounds of a woman weeping at night, and the rocking of an empty chair, and the unrelenting beating of a heart. As ghosts appear and others flee, she becomes determined to untangle the web of secrets, murder and vengeance from beyond the grave.
