Fan Fest To Kick Off Big League World Series Tuesday Night

Free fest to feature home run derby, live concerts

Easley's J.B. “Red” Owens Complex is definitely the place to be starting Tuesday.

After Fox Carolina films its “Celebrating the Carolinas” segment tomorrow morning from 5-9am, the Complex will then host a free festival, which kicks off the Big League World Series in Easley.

Gates open for Fan Fest at 5pm Tuesday afternoon, according to Big League World Series spokesman Alan Schaff.

The free fest, sponsored by radio station B93.7, is one of the station's “Just Show Up” shows, meaning there's no advance tickets needed – just show up!

The fest will kick off with a Home Run Derby featuring Big League World Series players and members of the public.

“They'll kind of a do a Celebrity Home Run Derby,” Schaff said.

Two concerts will follow the Home Run Derby, Schaff said.

First up is Outasight, who describes his sound as a mix of hip-pop, indie rock with classic pop and soul.

Karmin is headlining the show. The band became a viral video success story when their cover of Chris Brown's “Look At Me Now” blew up on youtube, garnering millions of views after some of hip-hop's biggest names spread the word about it.

The duo played on “Saturday Night Live” earlier this year and their youtube channel KarminCovers has been viewed more than 178 million times. Learn more about them at www.karminmusic.com.

Parking will be available at the J.B. Red Owens Complex. There's no charge for parking.

Fan Fest promises to be a great night at a great price.

“Everything tomorrow night is free of charge,” Schaff said.
