Score Sports Radio Show (SSR) is adding Dan Scott to their line-up of broadcasting professionals.
The station now covers most of South Carolina and they are adding more affiliates in the Southeast. Scott, a former 104.9 fm WCCP radio personality, will be airing his broadcasts from SSR's studio in Powdersville.
"I'm excited to be joining The Score Sports Radio Network. I've enjoyed my time here in the Upstate. It has become my home," said Scott, who is a West Virginia native.
"And I'm happy that fans of my show here, as well as in Charleston, will be able to make a smooth transition as we move on to bigger and better things. The extended coverage area, and potential for growth, allows for so many wonderful opportunities. And I can't wait to get started."
Scott has been a fixture on sports talk radio in the Upstate for more than a decade. His show generally features expert guests and calls from listeners, who discuss everything from college sports to major league baseball to health and fitness.
“I am excited to have Dan Scott join us on The Score," said Ben Milstead, program director at SSR. "I’ve followed his career as long as he has been in South Carolina and have always been a fan. The Score is getting a quality radio personality who loves what he does and is passionate about sports.”
Prior to coming to the Upstate, Scott was a multi-award-winning sports writer and editor for newspapers in several states. He is a two-time winner of the West Virginia Press Association's Best Sports Page or Section top honors, and early in his Upstate tenure served as both Sports Editor and Managing Editor of the Seneca Daily Journal.
Currently, Scott is the play-by-play voice of the Furman Paladins football, men's basketball and baseball programs. Prior to his time with Furman, he spent seven years as the play-by-play voice of Clemson baseball and women's basketball.
