Camp Counselor Accused of Exposing Himself at Bible School

An Upstate man was arrested and charged with indecent exposure after deputies say he exposed himself to a female student during vacation Bible school.

A former Pickens County teacher and volunteer camp counselor was arrested on Friday after having been accused of exposing himself to a female student during vacation Bible school.

Central police said that on June 21 the victim and her parents filed the complaint that 26-year-old Kevin DeRossett showed his private parts to the girl on June 18 during A.L.I.V.E. vacation Bible school, where he was serving as a volunteer camp counselor, according to media reports.

Police said he resigned as a counselor the next day.

DeRossett had been a teacher at Liberty High School, but had resigned his position in early July, prior to his arrest, according to a statement released by the School District of Pickens County.

DeRossett has been released on a $7,500 personal recognizance bond.
