Greenville, SC — SunTrust Bank is pleased to announce that Fred West has been named SunTrust Market President and Commercial Team Manager for the Upstate market.  In his new capacity, West will be responsible for the growth and expansion of SunTrust in the Upstate and Western North Carolina which includes greater Asheville and the Hendersonville areas.  His office is located at 300 E. McBee Avenue, Greenville, SC.

Prior to joining SunTrust West most recently served as the Market President for Carolina First in the Upstate for several years.  Prior to Carolina First, Fred served in various roles at Barnett Bank and Bank of America including Region President, Director of In-store Banking, and various commercial and retail leadership roles.  

A graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. West has been very active in the Upstate community including involvement in the United Way, March of Dimes, Urban League, and the Chamber of Commerce.
